Power - Psionic Brain Drain

When Brenda punches someone with the deliberate intent to hurt them (even if it's an 'I'm sorry I have to do this' intent) she drains part of their intelligence and takes it on for herself.

For example she could punch Tony Stark and he would lose a random chunk of what his brain considers standard information and Brenda would gain it (say, his understanding of nuclear physics, or bookkeeping). She doesn't gain his MEMORIES directly, but long-term stored information like how to work on different kinds of computers, how to operate the Iron Man armour or drive a car, knowledge of spelling and reading - anything he has accumulated that he now draws on as stuff he just KNOWS as second nature and doesn't have to think about much or at all.

If she kept punching him enough times he would be temporarily rendered functionally retarded and she would temporarily be a genius. This transfer of mental fortitude lasts about five minutes per punch - so if she hit him five times she would have his intelligence for twenty five minutes, with her steadily losing information and him steadily gaining it back over that time until they were back to normal. If the person loses consciousness from any hit she takes there is an automatic 'full drain that will fade in half an hour at the most and sooner if they wake back up.

For a normal person of about the same intelligence as herself Brenda could use this power to, for example punch someone unconscious and absorb their knowledge of how to operate a vehicle or weapon, or just to incapacitate them so much that they can't even tie their own shoes.

It has to be a bare handed closed-fist punch, with some decent force. She can't just tap you with her knuckles so you barely feel it, she's gotta leave a bit of a bruise.

Also, just knowing how to do something is not the same as experience - although she might understand the controls of a machine or a weapon, having the physical capacity to operate it isn't the same. She might instantenously learn how to, for example, do a handstand kick, but that doesn't mean that she is necessarily strong or flexible enough to execute it well. And she doesn't get to REQUEST what knowledge she gets from someone. Hitting an EMT to learn first aid may get her said person's intimate knowledge of model planes instead for example.

This is really the sort of power that will need to be plotted out on a use by use basis in most cases, however this is for anyone who's character has a mental shielding ability, or who is a telepath or something who could block this mind drain power either as a matter of course, or who would figure out how to stop or reduce it after an initial hit.

Let me know here people! Thank you! <3

ideas on how this would work on people whose brains still function and process like computers?

I am pretty sure Loki has enough guards against telepaths etc to be immune from this.

Also Old Lace. I don't think it would work on Old Lace.

Juston is vulnerable to this and his power lets him recognize how any machine works just by looking at it so he's full of information. But really... small and cute and you wouldn't want to punch him would you?

Ken Ichijouji has some psychic powers and he would be able to defense himself unless you completely KO'd him.

So from what you've said to Cameron, it probably wouldn't work against the Extremis!Tony, but it would steal the information. Thus. Creating. Braindead. Tony. I kind of want that to happen, not going to lie.

Mara is good to go, as well as Mitch!

Ted would be kind of weird to download from. Since part of his brain is actually literally a computer.

UM BUT SHOULD BE OKAY WITH SOUNDWAVE AND WALKER, YES.

Permission for both Duck and Vash, but who would ever want to punch Duck?

Not that Vash has much knowledge that Brenda wants, except maybe the history of his planet and, idk, firearms expertise?

If it ever comes up-- punching Parker once might be useful as you'll get an almost encyclopedic knowledge of how to break in and steal just about anything. :)

She will so not be happy, but I say go for it.

Remus has blocks against telepathy and stuff, but a good punch or five might actually break those barrier so... if Remus ever actually does something to piss her off, go for it. XD

Phoenix and Quatre are also free for this, but lol... I can't imagine any of my character that aren't Phoenix pissing anyone off enough to get punched.

Aaron is vulnerable to this power. He pings as a regular human when it comes to mental abilities and fortitude. He has some pretty intense willpower, but he's nothing against a Psionic ability like this.

For him, he knows a lot about being a police officer, and a vampire. The most basic of this information would include laws, his job duties, and also what he needs to survive, what his limits and abilities are, and how to kill his specific breed of vampires.
